Sources & monitoring
A dataset of regulations is only as good as the day it was last checked. The regulatory brain is kept current in three ways: it is monitored against official sources, curated by review, and versioned so every figure can be tied to an exact state of the data.
Monitored
Each fact in the brain is tied to the official source it comes from - the regulator page, scheme document or legal instrument that defines it. Those sources are watched, so when a regulator publishes a change, it is caught rather than missed. The brain records, per source, which market and stream it belongs to and whether it is actively watched.
Curated
Detected changes are not published raw. A change is reviewed and written up with a plain-language summary and an assessment of its impact before it becomes a fact you rely on and a News entry you read. This is what lets the brain carry an honest confidence label on every figure: a rate is only confirmed once it has been checked against a published source.
Versioned
The brain is versioned. Every set of facts is stamped with the version it was loaded from and the date it was loaded. That is why pages show a "last updated" date, and why the PDF report prints a regulatory data version - so any figure can be tied back to the exact state of the data that produced it. Because coverage changes only when a new version is loaded, a report is reproducible: the same version yields the same numbers.

The streams it covers
The brain organises its facts by stream - a kind of producer responsibility. Each Oblifee module reads the stream it needs:
