The estimator

The estimator prices the EPR fees for a product that is not yet in your workspace. You upload the supplier's packaging specification, tell Oblifee which markets you intend to sell into and roughly how many units a year, and it returns an estimated fee per market. Use it to sanity- check a new line, compare two suppliers, or brief a customer before you commit.

It lives in the new product branch of the Packaging Builder wizard.

Run an estimate

  1. Open Packaging Builder and choose Get started → New product.
  2. Give the product a name, and optionally attach it to one of your businesses.
  3. Upload the supplier packaging spec - a PDF or a Word (.docx) document, up to 15 MB.
  4. Tick the markets you plan to sell into. Only markets the brain can price are offered.
  5. Enter an estimated annual volume (units per year) for each market.
  6. Run the estimate.

:::info Your spec file is never kept The uploaded document is malware-scanned before it is read, and it is not stored. Only the extracted components and the priced result are saved. A packaging spec is a document to price once, not a document store. :::

The estimate result

An estimate result page showing the total annual fee, a UK recyclability rating, fee per market and the components read from the spec
The estimate result: total annual fee, the UK RAM rating, fee per market, and the packaging components the reader extracted from the spec.

The result page carries:

SectionWhat it shows
Total annual feeThe headline estimate, per currency, across all chosen markets.
Confidence badgeThe reader's own confidence - high, medium or low - in how well the components and weights reflect the spec.
UK RAM 2027 ratingWhere a GB market is priced, the red/amber/green recyclability rating and its effect on the fee. See Recyclability (RAM).
Fee per marketThe estimated fee for each market and its annual volume.
ComponentsEach packaging component the reader found: its material, per-unit weight, and whether that weight was stated, converted or estimated.
Detailed fee linesEvery market × component fee, each with its confidence status (confirmed, illustrative or estimate).
Assumptions & observationsEvery judgement call the reader made, and anything about the pack that affects recyclability or fees.

:::warning An estimate, not a filing The estimator produces an estimate to sanity-check, not a compliance submission. Weights may be converted or estimated, material mappings are best-fit, and fees use current cited rates. When you are ready to file, add the product properly so its real packaging and volumes drive your live position. :::

When a component cannot be priced

If a market has no cited rate for a component's material, that line is listed as unpriced rather than guessed. The total reflects only what could be priced, so treat a large unpriced count as a signal to check the market's coverage.
