Packaging Builder
The Packaging Builder is where you explore packaging changes and their compliance impact before you spend anything on tooling or artwork. It answers two questions:
- "What if I changed the packaging of a product I already have?" - the AI redesign proposes a lighter, cheaper or more recyclable construction and re-prices it against your real volumes.
- "What would a product I do not sell yet cost me?" - the estimator reads a supplier packaging spec and prices the EPR fees for the markets you plan to sell into.
How it fits your data
Everything the Builder shows is grounded in the same data as the rest of Oblifee:
- your product's packaging components (materials and per-unit weights),
- its last 12 months of despatch volumes per market,
- and the regulatory brain's cited fee rates, eco-modulation rules and recyclability criteria.
No fee you see was invented by a model. Both tools follow the same three-stage discipline:
The AI step only ever proposes a construction or reads a spec. The numbers - current fee, proposed fee, saving, recyclability rating - are always calculated afterwards from the brain's cited rates, exactly as the dashboard calculates them.

Who can use it, and what it costs
- You need an active workspace on a live plan. Without a plan, the Builder hands you to plan setup - a run costs a model call, and the allowance that meters it belongs to a plan.
- Owners and admins can run concepts and estimates; every member can open and read the results.
- Redesign concepts, pack visuals and new-product estimates all draw on the same monthly AI allowance. When it runs out, the wizard is replaced by a prompt to add an AI pack or wait for the next cycle. See Plans & modules.
