Managing clients

Once clients have invited you, the Consultant Workbench is your home base for working across all of them. This page covers the day-to-day loop and how billing fits together.

The portfolio loop

  1. Scan the workbench. Clients with data gaps are at the top and flagged, so you can triage at a glance.
  2. Open a client - the Open button switches you into that workspace.
  3. Do the work - within your role, the whole app now reflects that client: their products, volumes, position, builder concepts and reports.
  4. Return - switch back via the workspace switcher in the header, or reopen the workbench to pick the next client.

:::tip You are only ever in one workspace at a time Switching into a client changes what every screen shows to that client's data. There is no risk of mixing two clients' data on one screen - the workspace you are in is always shown in the header. See Switching workspaces. :::

Doing the work

Inside a client workspace you have the same tools as any member with your role:

  • Review their analytics position and export a report to share.
  • Maintain their products, packaging and volumes (with an editing role).
  • Model cheaper or more recyclable packaging in the Packaging Builder.
  • Ask Obli about that client's position - it is grounded in the workspace you are currently in.

How billing works

Each client workspace has its own plan and subscription - billing belongs to the workspace, not to you as a consultant. Whoever owns the workspace chooses and pays for its plan and any module add-ons, and your access does not change what that workspace is billed. The Consultant module that powers your workbench is itself a module on the plan.

Because arrangements vary - some consultants are billed through their client, some resell, some just advise - the specifics of plans and module add-ons live in one place: see Plans & modules.
